Probably, the oldest trees in Moscow
Ancient Oak-Trees
KolomenskoeKolomenskoe includes a small relict oak-grove. The trees growing here are the oldest on the museum territory and probably, in Moscow. The local oaks are aged from 400 to 600 years!
Both Tsar Alexey and his son, Peter I, would take a walk here. And as legend has it, the Tsar-to-be Peter I would learn to read and write here, supervised by his tutor, Nikita Zotov.
The tallest oak-tree reaches 28 meters in height while the thickest trunk has 153 cm in diameter!
