Floodplain meadows

If you walk along the Moskva River downstream, a vast floodplain meadow view will open to your right after a while. As late as 50 ago the meadows were occupied with vegetable patches and cattle runs. 

Today, you can still come across typical floodplain plant species here such as meadow rue (thalictrum), clover (trifolium) and black alder (alnus glutinosa).
