Kolomenskoe Peasant’s Farmhouse

Kolomenskoe

The Kolomenskoe Peasant’s Farmhouse in Bolshaya Street makes part of the museum’s Ethnographic Complex and comprises a dwelling house, stables, an aviary and a granary.

The present-day farmhouse is a reconstruction made after archive documents and drawings describing a real house that used to stand in Nizhnyaya Street at Kolomenskoe. The wooden log house has a high brick basement which speaks of its host family as well-being. At the farmhouse you can visit a permanent exhibition illustrating late XIX – early XX century peasant life as well as a Fairy Tales in Peasant Life temporary exhibition.
